How to fix AEG dishwasher i30 leak error
The i30 error code indicates your AEG dishwasher has detected water leaking inside the appliance. This safety feature stops the cycle to prevent damage. Most leaks are caused by worn seals, blocked drainage, or misaligned components.
Most likely causes
- 35% The rubber gasket around the door deteriorates over time, allowing water to escape during the wash cycle.
- 30% Food debris clogs the drain filter, causing water to back up and leak from the tub seal.
- 20% The water inlet valve fails and allows water to leak into the base of the machine.
- 15% The circulation pump seal cracks, causing internal water leakage.
How to diagnose it
- 1
Stop the cycle immediately
Press the start/stop button to halt the wash cycle. Open the door carefully to prevent water spillage onto your floor.
- 2
Inspect the door seal
Pull the rubber gasket away from the groove around the door frame. Look for visible cracks, hardening, or mould growth. Run your fingers along the entire seal to check for wear.
- 3
Clean the drain filter
Remove the lower basket and locate the cylindrical filter at the bottom of the tub. Unscrew it anticlockwise, rinse under running water, and remove any debris. Screw it back in firmly.
- 4
Check the pump housing area
Lie down and look underneath the dishwasher with a torch. Inspect the pump connections and seals for visible water droplets or wet patches. Feel around the pump area with a dry cloth to detect moisture.
- 5
Run a test cycle empty
Close the door and run a short cycle without any dishes or detergent. Watch for water leaking from the base or door edges during operation. Stop the cycle if the i30 error reappears.
- 6
Replace faulty parts if needed
If leaking continues, the door seal or pump seal likely needs replacement. Order genuine AEG parts and follow your user manual for installation, or contact a qualified engineer.
